I was looking at the inter web and I saw so really cool backglass images for Jaws and Medial evil madness. Is it easy to swap out the image for the new one ? I was looking in the future pinball editor. But anything seem to work it out.
Any pointers ?

Hi Graf,

Yes it is very simple to add change any image in FP.
Click Table from the top menu and then select Texture Manager you can add or change any image you want from this menu. You can add change anything in FP music sounds models.

So if it is the Translite.
Click the Translite image on the left side panel.
Then on the right side panel you will see a Traslite Image name with a drop down menu.
You have two options you can import a new picture with your own file name or re-import the picture with the same name.
IMPORT A NEW PICTURE
Click Table from the top menu and then select Texture Manager.
Click import and import your new picture let's so you called it NEW BACKGROUND for eg...
click OK.
Go to the right side panel Translite Image and use the drop down menu and select the file name you just imported for eg.. NEW BACKGROUND, done!!

REIMPORT
Remember the file name in the Traslite Image drop down menu.
Click Table from the top menu and then select Texture Manager.
Find the Translite file name in the list click on it and then click Reimport, it will ask you if you want to replace this item. Click yes then select you new picture from you file, done!!!

A word of caution is that the texture needs to have square dimensions. If it does not, FP will make the texture square and the result will be distorted. I prefer 2048x2048 but often find 1024x1024 on many tables.

Cool.
Thanks George. I was looking into it and I said yep I'm going to MOD JAWS with an animated Backglass.

So I imported the file as a mp4 . But it has type as No.

Is it possible to import video file has a backglass ?

That is correct. You add the frames for the video to an image list. Add an overlay and then add the name of the image list to it. Then identify the frames for the video in the script.

I think TerryRed is working on a better way but I don't think it is available yet.

There has to be a plugin that will convert a mp4 into still pictures :) .

Once we have converted the video into a still picture how will Future pinball know that these are for the backglass.

Is it cause the way the pictures are saved eg.
!BG.jpeg
then it will be
!BG (1).jpeg
!BG (2).jpeg
!BG (3).jpeg
..

Will FP know what to do ?

Convert mp4 video to gif, convert gif to jpeg import all jpeg files into FP. Make an image list. Create a hologram in FP. Apply the image list name. Add code to script.
